Shila Pir

Shila Mata, also known as Shila Pir, is a sacred spot in Hanumangarh. Shila means 'stone'. It is situated near Bhatner Fort and the rock-built shila is 6 feet long, 2.5 feet wide and 2 feet high.

According to local belief, cleaning the shila with katchi lassi will cure skin diseases. Lassi is a popular chilled yogurt drink in India.

The shila is frequented by Hindus and Muslims and is a symbol of religious unity. A fair is held every Thursday at the place also on the occasion of Muharram.
