Shikhar Outward Bound Institute




The Shikhar, a registered organization, was started in 1982 at Malad with a vision to foster international human co-operation. The name 'Shikhar' literally means 'peak,' and it offers training to corporate executives and adventure sports enthusiasts. Courses are conducted in mountaineering, white water rafting, high altitude skiing, high altitude trekking and rock climbing. Engineering, finance and management lessons are also provided. Shikhar organizes mountaineering expeditions and arranges treks to varied terrains of India including hills and mountains, meadows and plains, deserts, forests, monsoon, snow regions, seas and beaches. In addition, the Shikhar has youth exchange programs, scout and guide programs, community development programs, personality development programs and know the sea programs.
