Shikari Devi




Shikari Devi is a hamlet situated 15 km from Janjehli in Mandi District, Himachal Pradesh. It lies at an elevation of about 2,850 m above sea level. Surrounded by woods of assorted trees and shrubs, Shikari Devi offers panoramic views snow-capped peaks and deep valleys. The roofless Shikari Devi Temple is main attraction of the place. It is said that hunters in the area once prayed to Devi (a goddess) for success in their hunt, hence the name Shikari Devi. Nearby attractions include Shikari Peak, Kamru Nag Temple, Rohanda, Barot, Karsog, Chindi, Shikari Devi Sanctuary and Sundernagar. Shikari Devi is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. Accommodation is available. Shikari Devi can be approached from Janjehli and Karsog. Kullu Manali Airport at Bhuntar is the nearest airport and the nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar Railway Station.
