Shigmyamel is a special event celebrated in
Goa. It is a festival marking the arrival of the spring season. This festival corresponds to the
Holi festival, which is celebrated all over India.
On the day of Shigmyamel, the men indulge in dancing and merry making. A variety of folk dances are performed on this day.
