Sheethalnathji Jain Temple




Built in 1867, Sheethalnathji Jain Temple is devoted to the 10th of the 24 Jain Tirthankars. Situated at the Badridas Temple Street, it is a magnificent specimen of Indian art and is a famous Jain shrine in Kolkata. The entrance to the temple is flanked by a pair of massive pillars. The main deity, Sheethalnathji is guarded by the images of Anand Swami and Gatan Swam. The white marble idol of Sheethalnathji is adorned with a gold necklace, a diamond on the forehead and silver on the feet. The walls of the temple are decorated with intricate patterns of glass and stone. The temple is opened everyday from 06:00 to 12:00 hrs and from 15:00 to 19:00 hrs.
