Shauripur

Shauripur village is located about 75 km from Agra, on the banks of the Yamuna River, in Uttar Pradesh. Surrounded by a dense forest teeming with fauna and flora, it is an important place of pilgrimage for the Jains.

A number of ancient Jain teerthas can be found, significant being Bhagwan Shri Neminath Teerth, Shri Chintamani Pashavanath Temple and Shankha Dhwaj Mandir. The seven big temples of the Swetamber Jain Samaj are situated to the east of the village.

A Dharamshala was built by the Swetamber Samaj here for the convenience of the tourists. In front of the Dharamshala is a Dada Badi, which is considered to be the first of its kind in the country.

Shauripur is about 25 km from Shikohabad Junction Railway Station. The bus service from Shauripur to Shikohabad, Firozabad, Sirsaganj and Jasrana is frequent.
