Sharfuddinpur is 13 km to the east of Muzaffarpur, in Muzaffarpur District of Bihar. It is located at an altitude of 147 ft above the sea level, on the National Highway 57.

This town is on the eastern banks of Bagmati River, a major river in the district.

For pilgrims, Kali Mata Temple and Ramna's Tripur Sundari Temple are the ideal sites. Janaki Temple, at Sitamarhi, attracts thousands of pilgrims from far and near.

Sharfuddinpur is served by Patna Airport.

Nearest railhead is Silaut Railway Station, on the Muzaffarpur-Samastipur rail route.
