Shamlaji Fair




Shamlaji Fair, also known as Kartik Poornima Fair, is one of the largest fairs celebrated at Shamlaji, in Sabarkantha District of Gujarat. This three week long fair falls in the month of November.

About 200,000 people of all communities and castes including the Garasias and Bhils, attend the fair. The fair is much popular among the Bhils, who revere Shamlaji, the deity they refer to as 'Kalio Bavji', the dark divinity.
