Shamayita Mutt

Established in 1996, the Shamayita Mutt is an international woman's religious center situated on a hillock at Ranbahal in Bankura District, about 1 km from the Amarkanan bus stop. The mutt derives its name from the word 'Sham' which means concentration of supreme power controlling all our deviations or distractions. The ashram today carries out a number of spiritual, social and cultural activities.

Amarkanan is well connected to Durgapur by road. The nearest railway stations are at Bankura (20 km) and Durgapur (40 km). The closest airport is at Kolkata.
