Shakya Center is located about 12 km to the north of
Dehradun, in
Uttaranchal. This striking Tibetan gompa is decorated with ornate frescoes and has a center of Tibetan medicine adjacent to it. A sizeable settlement of Tibetan people is also present in the surrounding areas.
Dehradun Railway Station is the nearest major railhead.
