Shahpur

Shahpur, on the west banks of the Koel River, is located close to Daltonganj in Palamu District of Jharkhand. It is a ruined place and stands on a high tract of land.

There is a palace built by Gopal Rai, the Raja of Palamu, in the 18th century. It is in a dilapidated state now. A white temple can also be spotted here. Both these provide a charming view from Daltonganj.

Some stone implements of late Stone Age have been collected from the nearby areas.
