Shad Lukhmi Dance

Shad Lukhmi is a native dance of Meghalaya. It involves both men and women who are positioned alternatively in a row. Each person holds the adjoining person’s waist. The group thus formed moves in the north-south direction, followed by a movement in the reverse direction. During the performance, the dancers hold a shield, which is smaller than that used during a martial dance.
