Sevai Attam

Sevai Attam is a dance form devoted to 'Thirumal' (Lord Vishnu), usually performed by the Nataka community of Tamil Nadu. During the performance, the dancers form a group and one of them acts as a buffoon and dance to the music of a percussion instrument, usually 'Urumi'. The special features of this dance are the classical songs and the measured steps with simple movements.

In Sangam works Sevai Attam is referred as 'Pinther Kuruvai'.

In ancient time, Sevai Attam was performed at the rear of a chariot procession of a king or a deity.
