Sessa Orchid Sanctuary




Sessa Orchid Sanctuary is located in Sessa which is about 20 km from Tipi in West Kameng District.

Spread over 100 sq km, this sanctuary is sandwiched between the Eagle Nest and the Pakhui wildlife sanctuaries. It is bounded to the north by the valley of River Tenga. Sessa abounds in various species of orchids. Red panda, pheasants, serow and goral are also found here.

Sessa can be approached from Bhalukpong/Tipi. Bus and taxi services are available from Itanagar and Tezpur. The nearest railhead is at Tezpur. Accommodation is available at the forest rest house in Tipi and PWD Inspection Bungalows at Bhalukpong, Dedza (Jamiri) and Tenga.
