Seraikela, the seat of administration of Seraikela District, is a small and sleepy town situated on the banks of Kharka River in Jharkhand. It is located 60 km south of Chandil and is around 140 km south-east of Ranchi.

Major point of interest in Seraikela is the old Sri Ram Baba Ashram. Palna Dam, Subarnarekha Dam, Kali Sthan, Jamshedpur and Ichagarh Bird Sanctuary constitute interesting excursions outside Seraikela.

Nearest major airport is at Ranchi. Sini Junction Railway Station serves Seraikela.
