Sera




Sera is a beautiful village situated close to the town of Kushalnagar and forms a part of the Tibetan refugee settlement area. It is a protected area and the foreigners need a permit to visit Sera.

The village serves as a healthy place to live and has a clean atmosphere. The people of the village speak Tibetan. It houses two monasteries with around 5,000 monks.

Sera IMI House offers well-furnished rooms for accommodation with shared baths. The communication facilities such as internet, Fax and telephone are available at the monastery. Tashi Lhunpo monastery, an ancient monastery, is a nearby attraction.

Mysore is 2-hour drive and Bangalore is 6-hour drive from here.
