Senchal is a famous tourist spot located about 10 km south-east of
Darjeeling in
West Bengal. Major point of attraction here are the three artificial lakes situated on top of a 2487 m high hill. The lakes serve as a reservoir for Darjeeling's water supply.
The golf course situated at the summit is regarded as one of the highest in the world. The Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary, situated nearby, is home to many animal species including barking deer, wild boar and black bear.
