Satpura is in Hoshangabad District of Madhya Pradesh. It is 12 km south of Babai (also spelt Bambai), and 16 km south-west of Semri. The district headquarters town, Hoshangabad is 28 km away.
Major attraction is the Satpura National Park. The vast Tawa Reservoir is another highlight.
