Saravana Poikai, located at
Tiruttani in Tiruvallur district, is also known as Kumara Teertha. It is a sacred tank at the foot of a hill where a famous Muruga temple is also located. It is said that the sacred water (teertham), as it is rich in minerals, has curative effects for both bodily and mental ailments. Tiruttani, one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga, is 13 km away from Arkonam and 84 kilometers from Chennai.
