Sapauli




Sapauli is a small village near Jait, in Mathura District. Its old name was Augholi. The literal meaning of Sapauli is the place of snakes. According to Hindu mythology, it is at this place that Lord Krishna killed Agasura, a demon who was sent by Kamsa to kill the Lord. Sapauli is around 15 km from Mathura. Mathura Junction Railway Station and Agra Civil Enclaves are the nearest railway station and airport.
