Sangken Festival




Sangken is an annual Buddhist festival celebrated by the Khamti tribes, who reside in the plains of Lohit District of Arunachal Pradesh. The festival marks the beginning of the New Year.

The images of Lord Buddha are taken to a holy bath and people spray water on each other as a sign of merriment during this festival.
