Sanga Chelling Monastery




Sanga Chelling Monastery, situated about 7 km from Pemayangtse, is one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim. Sanga Chelling means 'the island of esoteric teaching'. Built in 1697, this monastery is highly venerated among the Nyingmapas. It also houses some of the original clay statues.
