Sambhulingeswara Kalyanotsavam




Sambhulingeswara Kalyanotsavam is an important festival held at Swayam Sambhulingeswara Temple in Nalgonda District. It falls during Mahashivaratri and lasts for five days. The wedding ceremony of the presiding deity is celebrated on this occasion. Cash, silver and gold ornaments, coconuts and flowers are offered to the deity. If a childless woman performs puja wearing wet clothes on all the days of the festival, she is believed to be blessed with a child. A cattle fair is held during the festival. A large number of devotees from the districts of Hyderabad, Warangal, Guntur and Nalgonda assemble here on this occasion.
