Sambhal is located in
Moradabad District of
Uttar Pradesh. It is about 35 km south-west of
Moradabad.
It was an important township during the Muslim rule and was one of Sikandar Lodi's provincial capitals in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. Agriculture is a major activity here.
