Salgaocar Sports Club is a high-class sports club located at
Vasco da Gama, a cosmopolitan city in
South Goa District. Established in 1955, it works for the promotion of football in India.
It was the first professional team from Goa to participate in the prestigious Durand Football Tournament after Goa's liberation in 1961.
The club has won several titles including the Millennium Cup, Edward V Carvalho Memorial Cup, Taca Goa Trophy, Sait Nagjee Cup, Nehru Gold Cup, Nagpur Rovers Cup, Goa FA Champions Trophy, Goa Governor's Cup, Durand Cup, Salgaocar Gold Cup, Bandodkar Gold Cup and Federation Cup.
In addition to football, the club now focuses on cricket also.
