Salamba Sarvangasana

Salamba Sarvangasana, the supported shoulder stand, is an asana, which calms the brain and helps relieve stress and mild depression.

Salamba Sarvangasana stimulates the thyroid and prostate glands and abdominal organs and helps to relieve the symptoms of menopause. It is an ideal posture to improve the digestion and it tones up the legs and buttocks.

In Sanskrit, 'salamba' means 'with support,' 'sarva' means 'all' and 'anga' means 'limb.'
