Sakar Bagh is a beautiful garden situated on Rajkot road, just 3.5 km from the heart of
Junagadh, in
Gujarat. The garden is famous for being home to the small
Junagadh Zoo - the oldest zoo in Gujarat - and the Junagadh Museum. Junagadh Zoo was set up in 1863, to save lions from extinction. It is now home to lions, tigers and leopards and other animals. The zoo is open daily from 09:00 to 18:00 hrs.
Junagadh Junction Railway Station, on the Veraval-Rajkot railway line, is the nearest railhead.
