Sahatwar




Sahatwar is a small town in Ballia District. It is located to the east of Ballia and south of Bansidh.

The town, also called Mahatwar and Mahatpal, is said to have been founded by one Mahant Billeshar Nath Mahadeo. In its days of yore, it had considerable trade in sugar, cotton, salt and tobacco. Now, it has small scale industries based on weaving, wood-work, chemical and allied products.

Sahatwar Railway Station falls on the Phephna-Chhapra rail route. Nearest airport is Patna Airport.
