Runkata is located in
Agra District of
Uttar Pradesh. It is about 10 km north-west of
Agra.
The place is closely associated with Jamadagni, the father of Lord Parashuram, and his wife Renuka. The famous Yamuna River flows nearby.
Runkata houses an ancient temple with Jamadagni and Renuka as deities. There are small temples dedicated to Lakshmi Narayana and Parashuram. Sur Sarovar, a picturesque lake, is only 3 km from here. Surdas Reserve Forest is also easily accessible from here.
Agra City Railway Station is the nearest railhead. Agra Civil Enclaves is the nearest airport.
