Rui Macher Matha diye Muger Dal




A delicacy among the Bengali dishes, Rui Macher Matha diye Muger Dal has fish head and yellow split lentil as its ingredients. The fried fish head is broken into small pieces and cooked with turmeric powder, salt, sugar, ginger paste, cumin paste, powdered spices and cooked lentils. Cumin seeds, bay leaves and dried chilies are saute in oil and added to the base gravy before serving. Rui Macher Matha diye Muger Dal is a good accompaniment for rice.
