Rudreswara Temple

The Rudreswara Temple of Lord Shiva situated at Palampet near Warangal in Andhra Pradesh is a major pilgrim and tourist attraction. Built by the Kakatiyas in the 13th century, the temple is like an art gallery in itself. Its exquisite sculptures, carved ceilings and decorative columns set off the lofty grandeur of Kakatiya art. The artificial lake on the temple premises is also from the same period. Maha Shivratri is a major festival here.

The Thousand Pillar Temple at Hanamakonda is a nearby attraction. Palampet is 142 km from Hyderabad.
