Rowa Wildlife Sanctuary




Rowa Wildlife Sanctuary is about 5 km from Panisagar in North Tripura District.

Sprawling over an area of about 85 hectares, this sanctuary forms a part of the moist deciduous forests of Champion and Seth classification. Faunal variety includes various species of insects, reptiles, fishes and birds and mammals. The sanctuary is an abode of birds and more than 100 species of bird can be sighted during different nesting seasons.

A small botanical garden has been developed inside the sanctuary. An 80 ft high permanent steel tower is erected for bird watchers. A children's park is also set inside the sanctuary.

The sanctuary lies about 2 km from Panisagar Railway Station and is near to the National Highway 44.
