Ross Island

Ross Island is located at the entrance of Port Blair harbour. It was the administrative headquarters of the British some time ago. It is accessible by a short boat ride from Phoenix Bay Jetty. At Ross Island, you can view ruins of a church and cemetery. A swimming pool and Chief Commissioner's residence are also present. There is a small museum of Indian Navy called Smritika. It houses a compilation of old records. Boats are available from Phoenix Bay Jetty, daily except on Wednesdays.
