Roshini Fair

Roshini Fair, also known as the 'fair of lights', is one of the popular fairs of Punjab. It is celebrated in honor of a Muslim Pir, Abdul Kader Jalani and is held at his tomb, in Jagraon of Ludhiana District. This fair lasts for three days and is celebrated from the 14th to the 16th of Phalgun.

A large number of devotees, both Hindus and Muslims, flock here on this occasion. The whole site becomes alluring at night when devotees lit earthen lamps at the shrine of the Pir.

During the fair, folk dances accompanied by Bolian songs are performed to the tune of flute and toomba - the one-stringed instrument.
