Rongrengiri




Rongrengiri, a historical place, is in the East Garo Hills District of Meghalaya. It is renowned for the last battle fought by the Garos against British. The 36 sq km Rongrengiri Reserve Forest is a splendid tourist destination. This place amidst the tall, elegant and mature Sal trees is on the left bank of the river Simsang. The river is significant for big and small catches. It is 10 km off Williamnagar on the Tura- Asanangre-Williamnagar state Highway and about 79 km from Tura.

Guwahati Junction Railway Station is the nearest railway station and the nearest airport is the Shillong Barapani Airport.
