Rhikho

Rhikho is a costume meant for the ordinary members of the Rengma tribe of Nagaland. Like the other costumes in the tribal society, this particular cloth denotes the social status of a person.

It is worn by men who have not yet offered a feast to the community. A person offering a feast is considered to have great significance in the tribal society. In the olden days, a warrior who had not beheaded an enemy had to wear this costume.

This cloth is white in color and contains four narrow black bands. Old men wear a rhikho containing less number of bands.
