Rauza Sharif




Rauza Sharif is a magnificent mausoleum located at Sirhind in Fatehgarh Sahib District of Punjab. It was built to commemorate the burial place of Mujadid-alf-Saani Sheikh Ahmed Faruqi, who lived during the period of Akbar and Jahangir.

The mosque comprises of several tombs, among which the tomb of the Afghani king Shah Zaman is famous. On every August, a great Urs is held in this mosque. It is regarded as a second Macca by the Sunni Muslims.

Rauza Sharif is about 50 km north of Chandigarh.
