Located at Tirumarugal, Ratnagireeswarar-Manikkavannar Temple is built by Ko Chenkann Cholan. The temple can be reached through a flight of steps. Dedicated to
Lord Shiva, the temple is adorned with a five tiered rajagopuram and two
prakarams. There is a temple tank, Lakshmi Teertham, in front of the temple. The temple also holds a separate sanctum for Vanduvaarkuzhaliammai. There are many paintings that depict scenes from legends associated with the temple. The sthala vriksham (sacred tree) is vaazhai (plantain). Chithra Pournami is celebrated in a grand manner.
