Ratib is a religious dance performed by the Muslims in
Goa. The dancers indulge in self-affliction, which is considered as a method of fulfilling the vows taken in the name of the Almighty. The dance is accompanied by the sound of percussion instruments, which are played vigorously.
Ratib is performed during the 11th month of the Islamic calendar.
