Ratapani Sanctuary




Ratapani Sanctuary, established in 1976, is located in Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh. Spread over an area of 435 sq km, this sanctuary is a natural habitat for a variety of flora and fauna.

Some of the principal flora found in the sanctuary are teak, sheesham, bija, saja, tendu and khair. Major animal species found here include tiger, leopard, cheetah, sambhar, wild boar, bear, blue bull and wild dog.

Visitors can stay at the forest rest house in Delabadiry. The best time to visit this sanctuary is from October to April.

The nearest airport is at Bhopal. Bhopal Junction Railway Station and Bhopal Bus Station are the nearest major access points. Obaidullahganj is a nearby major town.
