Rara




Rara is a small village located at a distance of 15 km from Doraha in Ludhiana District. Associated with Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh Guru, this village is a major shrine for Sikhs. Devotees believe that the guru blessed the village with his presence during the latter half of 1631. Gurdwara Manji Sahib Guru Hargobind Sahib has been built here to commemorate the visit of the guru. Built in 1940 by the ruling house of Patiala, this Gurdwara attracts a large number of devotees.

Rara village is also known in connection with a famous missionary Baba Ishar Singh Rarevala.

The nearest railway station is at Tanda, about 10 km from Rara and Ludhiana Airport is the nearest airport.
