River Rana originates in the Khordha sub-division of
Khordha District,
Orissa. After snaking its way through the Banki taluk in
Cuttack District, it eventually merges with the
River
Mahanadi. When Mahanadi is flooded, about 27 km around the Rana is submerged by the backwaters of this river.
