Ramnavami Mela is held at
Ayodhya in
Faizabad District of
Uttar Pradesh.
Ramnavami is the birthday of
Lord Ram, an incarnation of
Lord Vishnu.
The Mela is celebrated in the month of Chaitra (March-April). Thousands of devotees come to Ayodhya to worship Lord Ram at Kanak Bhawan. The temple is decorated and the image of Ram is richly adorned. The holy Ramayana is read during these days.
