Ramnagar

Ramnagar is a bustling market town situated on the rich farm-belt of the terai, on the south-eastern fringes of the great forests, in Nainital District. It is located on the banks of River Kosi and is 67 km south of Nainital.

Ramnagar is a popular tourist spot in the region, famous as the headquarters of the Corbett National Park and Project Tiger. All park accommodations should be booked through the Project Tiger HQ, which is located 200 m to the north of the bus stand in the Nainital direction at Ramnagar. Another major activity in the vicinity is fishing, but fishing permits should be obtained for the Project Tiger office. An animal fair organized here on the occasion of Kartik Purnima every year is another popular event.

Phoolbagh (Pantnagar), 50 km away, is the nearest airport. Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi is the closest international airport. Though Ramnagar has a railway station, Moradabad Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh is the major railway station nearby.
