Ramakrishna Vedanta Math




The Ramakrishna Vedanta Math (math is also spelt mutt) in Kolkata was founded in 1939 by Swami Abhedananda, a disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa Deva. Located at Sovabazar, it is meant for charitable, philanthropic and cultural works and serves the people regardless of caste, creed, color and religion. The mutt and its branches serve both rural and urban areas. It contributes in the areas of education, heath and spiritual training. Boarding and lodging facilities are offered to tribal students in its hostels. Ramakrishna Vedanta Math has free libraries and charitable dispensaries. It organizes lectures, seminars, meetings and daily discourses for the propagation of vedanta education and culture.
