Formerly known as Vivekananda Ashrama, the Ramakrishna Mutt is located at
Ulsoor in the north-eastern part of
Bangalore. Started in 1907, it is set amid thickly grown trees, beautifully laid rock gardens and lawns.
Run under Belur Mutt, it conducts a range of religious, medical, cultural and social welfare activities. Spiritual services include discourses, bhajans, question-answer session and chanting. Summer camps, cultural competitions and monthly yoga camps are organized. The math has a retired monk center, library and two free dispensaries.
Regular buses are available to Ulsoor from various parts of the city. The ashram is 5 km from Bangalore International Airport.
