Ramakalmedu




Ramakalmedu is a picturesque locale situated about 16 km from Nedumkandam, in Idukki District of Kerala. The rolling green hills, sylvan surroundings and captivating atmosphere makes Ramakalmedu a much sought after destination for tourists as well as nature lovers. It is also an ideal destination for hiking and trekking enthusiasts

The hilltop offers panoramic views of the picturesque villages of Bodinayakkanur and Kambam on the eastern slope of the Western Ghats. Ramakalmedu is also famous as the site where Kerala State's first wind energy project was implemented.

Ramakalmedu can be reached by bus from Nedumkandam, Kattappana and Kumily. Thookupalam is the nearest town.
