Rakchham-Chhitkul Sanctuary




Established in 1962, Rakchham-Chhitkul Sanctuary is situated in Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh.

Located at an altitude of 3,200 to 5,486 m, it is covered with lower western Himalayan temperate, upper western Himalayan temperate, dry broad scru forests. The sanctuary is spread over 34 sq km and is home to leopards, blue sheep, Himalayan black bear, brown bear, musk deer and goral.

Govind Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park is nearby.

The nearest town is Rekong Peo.
