Rajagiri Hill




Rajagiri Hill, earlier known as Anandhagiri, is located at Gingee in Viluppuram District of Tamil Nadu. Chhatrapati Shivaji renovated a fort on the hill in 17th century and renamed it as Rajagiri.

The base of this hill is noted for monuments like Kalyana Mahal, Horses Table, Granite Grading Stone Elephant Baths, Wrestling Arena, Explosives Storing Room, Granary, Prayer Hall, Chetti Tank, Chakkari Tank and Anjaneya Temple. On the top of Rajagiri there is a temple without a deity. The Durbar and Clock Tower are the added attractions on the top. Bala Aranganatha Temple, Choultry Tank and Kuvala Kanni Amman Shrine are nearby.
