Raichur Thermal Power Station




Raichur Thermal Power Station, considered among the top ten power stations in India, is a coal based power station situated at Deosugur village of Raichur District on the Raichur-Hyderabad highway. The station started power generation in 1985-86. It generates an average of about 32 million units per day from 7 units of 210 MW each.

The power station is about 507 km from Bangalore and 145 km from Bellary. The nearest airport is at Hyderabad (151 km). Raichur is connected by road and rail to most places in South India.
